BE EXCELLENT TO EACH OTHER (Terms Apply)

Gutter is committed to fostering a positive community, as long as "positive" is defined by our moderation team, which changes shift every 8 hours.

Gutter believes in the power of community. We also believe in the power of banning people without explanation. These guidelines exist to create the illusion of fairness while preserving our absolute authority over your digital experience.

1. SAFETY FEATURES

Two-factor authentication is recommended. We won't require it because users complained, and then they'll complain when they get hacked. It's a beautiful cycle.

Block and mute features are available for your protection. They work approximately 70% of the time and are easily circumvented by determined trolls.

Privacy settings let you control who sees your content. The default settings expose everything, because that's how we make money.

2. CONTENT STANDARDS

All content must be original or properly attributed. 'Properly attributed' means you typed 'source: Google' at least once.

Spam is prohibited, unless it's sufficiently entertaining spam, in which case we might feature it ironically before deleting it.

3. REPORTING & APPEALS

Reports are confidential, meaning we won't tell the reported user who reported them. We might hint strongly if it's obvious, though.

False reports may result in action against the reporter. Defining 'false' is an exercise we'd rather not engage in.

4. RESPECTFUL CONDUCT

Treat others as you would want to be treated, unless you're into that sort of thing, in which case please keep it off our platform.

Personal attacks are not tolerated. Impersonal attacks exist in a legal gray area we'd rather not explore. Attacks on abstract concepts are generally fine.

5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Respect others' intellectual property. Also respect ours—we own everything you post here, remember?

AI-generated content must be labeled as such, unless it's indistinguishable from human content, in which case existential dread prevents enforcement.

Trademark use must be nominative and appropriate. If you don't know what that means, neither do we. Just don't be weird about logos.

Copyright violations will be addressed per DMCA requirements, which means we'll take it down first and ask questions never.

6. GUIDELINE UPDATES

Retroactive enforcement of new rules is theoretically prohibited but practically ambiguous. Don't quote us on this.

Suggestions for guideline improvements can be submitted to our feedback portal, where they will be read with interest and implemented never.

Major updates will be announced via the notification system you probably muted because it was annoying.

Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance. Not using the platform also constitutes acceptance, spiritually.
